Kimberly McGlonn, Ph.D.
Founder & Creative Director

Kimberly has always been committed to civil and human rights. Activism was on the lips on her parents at dinner most evenings and out in the open in their living example. And because of her experiences growing up Black in segregated Milwaukee, a girl being raised Muslim, and then a woman who loved not men or women, but people- she developed a deep sense of compassion for everyone. Her appreciation for diversity and story and tradition, her affection for humanity, has also been nurtured by her travels to 25 countries. These collective experiences color everything about her sense of fashion.

Kimberly was inspired to launch this brand because she wanted to be of service to not only marginalized people, but also to the planet. This is why Grant Blvd’s first collection uses no new fabric and no new water. Ultimately, this is the mission of Grant Blvd- to make clothes that are undeniably and reliably stylish, and to create garments with deep roots in the fight for justice and reform. For Kimberly that means remaining committed to hiring returning citizens and teaching them both how to sew and how to live balanced, healthy lives.

“I believe that we if demand more, if we think differently about not only what we buy, but who we buy from, we have the power to challenge not only the social issues exacerbated by mass incarceration, but to more meaningfully address climate change. We got this".

Madelynne Juenger
Graphic Design Intern

Madelynne is a senior at Drexel University studying Graphic Design and Fine Art. Her interest in fashion was sparked when she began to view clothing as “wearable art” and then grew when she learned about the importance of sustainability in the industry. She hopes to use design as a platform to spread positivity and awareness around the things she is passionate about, such as the mission behind Grant Blvd. Madelynne hopes that her designs will bring about the same sense of encouragement and empowerment that the clothing of Grant Blvd provides to its wearers.
